Li Shutong, is a famous pioneer in latter-day New Culture Movement and also the renowned eminent monk, who is recognized as Master Hongyi.

Li Shutong had two residences in Tianijn, one in Dizang Temple-his birthplace (now in Lujia Alley, Liangdian Street, Hebei District) and another in No. 60, Back Street of Liang dian, Hebei District. The building takes the shape of “田” with more than 150 years of history. To commemorate Li Shutong and carry forward the excellent culture of Chinese people, calligraphy stele of Li Shutong was unveiled on 1990 October 23rd, the 110th birthday of Li Shutong.
